Introduction

Async Apex does not run instantly and not inside your transaction.

So when something fails, you may not see errors on UI — instead, failures appear in:

● Apex Jobs
● Debug Logs
● System emails

If you don’t monitor these, background failures can go unnoticed.

Where to Monitor Async Jobs

Navigate to:

Setup → Apex Jobs

Here you can see:

● Job Type (Queueable, Batch, Scheduled)
● Status (Queued, Processing, Completed, Failed)
● Error messages
● Execution time

This is the first place to check when debugging async issues.

◆ Queueable Limits

● Max 50 jobs per transaction
● Max 1 chained job per execution

◆ Future Limits

● Max 50 future calls per transaction
● Cannot chain futures

◆ Batch Limits

● Batch size max 2000
● 5 concurrent batches per org (standard)

● Callout timeouts
● Governor limit exceeded
● Record locking issues
● Unhandled exceptions

When this happens, job status becomes:

Failed

And error appears in Apex Jobs.

To debug async failures:

1. Check Apex Jobs error

2. Check Debug Logs

3. Add try–catch and logging

4. Store errors in custom object (advanced)

Never assume async code always succeeds.

● Always handle exceptions
● Log critical failures
● Avoid silent failures
● Monitor scheduled jobs regularly

In enterprise systems, async monitoring is treated like system health monitoring.

Async is heavily used in:

● Data processing pipelines
● Integrations
● Billing systems
● Automation engines

Without monitoring, failures may silently affect business operations.

Async Apex gives power — but also responsibility.

You must not only write background code, but also observe and control it.

Good monitoring prevents production surprises.
